How a Restart kitchen comes together

Five stages, each with a clear sign-off, so you always know what happens next and what it costs.

  1. Consult and measure

We visit, measure the room to the millimetre and talk through how you cook, store and entertain.

  2. Design and selections

Layout, cabinetry, benchtop, splashback, hardware and appliances, chosen together and drawn up.

  3. Itemised quote

A written quote that lists every line item and a schedule for each trade. No surprises later.

  4. Manufacture

Cabinetry is made to measure while we book plumbers, electricians and the benchtop template.

  5. Install and handover

Strip-out, install, connections and a final clean. We walk you through care before we leave.

Built for the way Queenslanders live

A kitchen in Queensland works harder than one in a cooler, drier climate. It opens to the deck, handles humid summers and often sits within sight of the pool or the beach.

We specify materials for those conditions from the start: moisture-resistant carcass board, edges sealed against swelling, hardware that copes with salt air near the coast, and ventilation that clears steam fast. Open-plan layouts get sightlines to the living area and a clear path to the alfresco, because that is where the evening ends up.

  • Moisture-resistant board for sink and dishwasher runs, where humidity and leaks do the most damage
  • Coast-ready hardware and fixings for homes close to salt air
  • Indoor to outdoor flow planned with your servery window, bifolds or outdoor kitchen
  • Silica-safe benchtops following the national engineered stone ban

Kitchen renovation questions, answered

Straight answers to what Queensland homeowners ask us most. Something else on your mind? Ask us directly.

How much does a kitchen renovation cost in Queensland?

Complete kitchen renovations with Restart Kitchens start from $24,995. The final price depends on the size of the room, whether walls, plumbing or electrical points move, the cabinetry finish, the benchtop material and the appliances you choose. A cosmetic refresh that keeps the existing layout costs less than a full strip-out with a new floor plan. After a free measure we give you an itemised written quote so you can see exactly where the money goes.

How long does a kitchen renovation take?

Most kitchens take between two and six weeks on site, depending on complexity. Before that, design, selections and cabinetry manufacture usually take several weeks, and we give you a realistic schedule at the quote stage so you know when the old kitchen comes out and when you can cook again.

Do I need to hire my own plumber or electrician?

No. Your project manager books and coordinates every licensed trade, including plumbers, electricians, gasfitters and tilers, so you deal with one team instead of five. In Queensland, electrical, plumbing and gas work must be completed by appropriately licensed tradespeople, and we schedule them in the right order so nothing holds up the job.

Which areas of Queensland do you service?

We work across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast, Ipswich, Logan, Moreton Bay, Redland City and Toowoomba, plus surrounding suburbs. If you are outside these areas, call 1300 816 633 and we will tell you straight away whether we can help.

Can I keep my existing appliances?

Yes, if they are in good working order and suit the new design. We plan cabinetry around the exact dimensions of any appliance you keep. Many clients upgrade the cooktop, oven or dishwasher at the same time because integrated and energy efficient models fit flush and reduce running costs.

Is engineered stone still available for benchtops?

No. Engineered stone benchtops, panels and slabs have been banned in Australia since 1 July 2024 because of the silicosis risk to workers who cut them. We help you choose from natural stone, porcelain and sintered surfaces, compact laminate, solid timber and stainless steel, which give a similar look with different care requirements.
